Conga project could be canceled

The operations have been halted and hundreds of workers have been laid off, according to a local newspaper. At 8:30 am, the Ministry of Energy and Mines will give a press conference about it.

The Conga mining project in Cajamarca, has suspended operations and made ​​the dismissal of hundreds of workers, reported the daily La República.
There has been no official statement from Buenaventura, nor from a representative of Newmont Mining in Peru, operators of the project.
At 8:30 am, according to the Portal Financiero program, the Ministry of Energy and Mines will give a press conference about this notice.
